… and another plane ride and another tram ride we then took a car to a boat then another car ride we made it to St Lawrenz. It is just that simple to do.
I made it sound worse than it really was. All went off with out a hitch. The Lufthansa A380 was quite comfortable although I cannot get over the feeling that the plane is really wallowing thru the sky rather than flying.
After changing planes in Frankfurt we had just a short hop (2 hours) to Malta. To make it easy for the next flight on we decided to hit out farthest away location in Malta, Gozo Island, first and work our way back to Valletta and the airport. This meant that our outbound day was long but we all hung in there well. On the way to the ferry terminal we drove past the movie set for the 1980 Robin Williams film Popeye which has been maintained and is now a tourist stop. We had a glance and moved on. All I can say is I can think of more convenient places to build a movie set, they must have really, really really wanted to film here.
Quick crossing and we are happy to be here. We arrived at a time of year when the local villages are celebrating their patron saints so there are lots of fireworks going off nearby late into the night. With the hard surfaces around here we hear them quite well. BOOM! Happy 4th of July all! BOOM!!
